Christmas/New Years and how it compares to the AWOL...
This year Christmas was different. As usual we put up the tree together and we open gifts on Christmas day but something about this Christmas seemed different. I felt there was a lack of gifts this year compared to the previous years. Usually my sister and I get gifts as well as a family gift to share. I believe last years gift was the Wii. It was a gift everyone could share and it is usually some sort of game system. This year we did not receive a family gift. I was looking forward to Christmas for such a long time but when it finally came i was surprised. Since the economy has gone down since last year many things have been cut back such as the family gift. This year was more about trying to spend less money or just by what you really need. It amazes me how in some situations such as black Friday people were still going shopping and buying as much as they could but not like usual. Like many people were trying to save as much money as they can. Even one dollar off mad a difference. But some people took black Friday to far causing a man to be trampled to death at a Wal-mart. It amazes me how within that crowd people didn't care what happened but cared to save a few dollars on a television. This shows how the typical American way of life is basically all about "me,me ,me" instead of having consideration for others. I feel as if Americans can be so unaware of the things that are important in life but focus on the things that make a tiny difference. Sometimes I think "what if" but i need to focus on reality and the reality is the extent people will go for to find happiness or to get what they want.
